Great for adding movement...
Great for adding movement to any source. I use it a lot on guitars and keys or synth pads. It's brilliant!

Best Rotary Speaker insite my Mac Pro.
A very well made rotary speaker, if not the best. Unfortunately very difficult to lug around, which fortunately is not noticeable in the plug-in version. Awesome and thank you.

average-
sound quality: nothing to write home about
features: lacking DSP version when it should be a must to track your guitar
price: discounted, ok. full price, too expensive.
overall impression: average-
might change my review to 3 stars if they add real time tracking with DSP.

Waterfall Rotary Speaker Usury
I was shocked and disappointed to see that the Waterfall B3 emulation I bought 3 months ago has been divided up and the rotary section, which looks identical to my Waterfall B3 version , is now being sold as a separate plugin.
OK but I wrote to UAD when I first got the VI stating that it was a great instrument but could they include a direct input to the rotary speaker, bypassing the organ in the next upgrade
I received no word back for the frankly, inspired, suggestion and was disappointed to see that if I want the Waterfall rotary effect, as a stand alone, I would have to purchase it again as a separate plugin.
Frankly, this idea sucks... big time. UAD are presently a huge disappointment to end users who, in good faith, makes worthy suggestions only to be shafted.

Not perfect but very good
Easy to install and get a good sound, very configurable etc. For me at least however (and at least one other reviewer I can see) the speed control/mod wheel link doesn't seem to work with my controller.

Bought this so called waterfall effect but it sounds more like a bloody Lesley cabinet!

Classic Leslie
Sound elegantly with the organ and guitar.
J. Keen
Classic Leslie sounds at a fraction of the price
I use this plug on everything I feel could use it as an effect. Obviously for keys, but for guitar and vocals, it rocks!

Great emulation
Sounds great with keys but equally good on vocals, guitars, and even percussion tracks. Really fun and creative tool.

Nice sounding rotary speaker
I use also versions from Arturia and Eventide for the rotary effect. I’ve got to say that the Waterfall Rotary Speaker brings something different, slightly more vintage, especially in the midrange.
It’s a colorful effect so I use it on specific sources.

Holy Moly
Well you can apply this to just about anything for rotary goodness and sounds great!

Water The F!!
This review is not about the sounds , which are excellent.
So, UA build a great B3, with a decent Leslie emulator. Bought that, works great. But you can’t feed it an external source. Then they build a standalone Leslie emulator (that’s probably better than the B3 version) that takes external feeds, but won’t work in Console - so bye bye live latency free tracking or performance with guitar.
Tried midi controlling the rotor speed? I have. It’s DOA. After an electric piano on an instrument track in PT, for example, the midi input feeds the piano, but the mod wheel does nothing. If your midi keyboard is controlling an instrument it can’t also control the rotor. Dumb.
It’s as if UA has gone out of their way to extract as much profit as possible from a single simulation…but not even done that properly.
PLEASE
1. Include the Leslie, with external input, in the B3 which loads of us use all the time.
2. Port it to use through Console
3. Sort out the midi implementation
4. Stop rinsing us.

A Leslie for the Ages!
A truly great Leslie simulator. I just used it on a shaker for a track and the rotary was perfectly timed to the tempo and gave the breakdown a really cool swirly vibe that everyone was freaking out to just how cool it was. Thanks to UA for making me sound better than I am!

enfin ! the real thing
Yah ! it's true. . . I could bring a Leslie every where without a truck or keep it in my mixing or recording studio without any space issue. Sounds like the real McKoy! Don't forget to put it on every electric organ plugin sounds you could have.
Again ! I have to say . . . thanks a lot Universal Audio.
Keep on keep it on!

Even better than the real thing.
I know what I’m saying. Having used several Leslie models (even a 145), I can say that. If you know where put your hands (there are few controls, don’t worry) you can really obtain “album ready” sounds. The FM and AM modulation frequecies are identical (if not better) to the real thing. The noises coming from the rotors, belts and switch (that a can be switched off) add realism. The microphones choices (position and types) are wonderful and the sound is superb (even at high overdrive settings). The interaction between the volume and gain controls is perfect. For the future I suggest to add the possibility to select a treble horn with deflectors removed and the possibility to send directly the full range sound in the bass rotor (to mimic the classic “Born to Be Wild” sound). Again five stars, check it out, you won’t be disappointed. Great sound without the problems of transport and miking of the real thing.

Very realistic Leslie
My guitar sounds like George Harrison and Eric Clapton. So many great presets to play with. There is no substitute for the Leslie sound since this very convincing emulation arrived.

It's ok
Heard better but does the job.
