Pleasant, warm-sounding compression!
The compression with this plugin sounds appealing: the signal moves nicely forward, but not in an aggressive way. There is a pleasant saturation of the signal that sounds warm. Applied to a sum, the individual signals merge and a dense, warm sound image is created.

Power and thicker sound UA 175B & 176
This compressor surprised me how much it made the acoustic guitar sound nicer and fatter. The drum has gained more power and is more pumped as well as the bass. The vocals are also closer and clearer with the compressor. I would recommend this compressor to everyone to have a richer sound and another sound colorization in their arsenal.

Very useful, great sounding tools
Having both the 1176 and LA2A collections, I bought these compressors out of curiosity, but I must say they can be called "classic" in their own right. Beautiful vintage compression with some interesting features and a warm and dense sound with lots of texture. I love the 175B on bass and the 176 on vocals and acoustic guitars. Worth checking out.

There are so many compressors but these 2, OMG! Amazing sound, so easy to use, and a lot more! Don't hesitate to grab these pair whenever u can. I use it for vocals a lot now.

The Tube version of the 1176?
I like how the 176 is sorta like if you combo a LA2A with an 1176, but with one plugin instance. Sometimes it can feel a little too "clampy" and then you back off a little, but imo it's a bit less clampy than the Fairchild or Manley tube comp plugins. I wish people were a bit more critical in their reviews, but I'm still a dumb fanboy, so I'm a be "real" and leave 4 stars, because it really has a cool 'color' to it, but it's not something I could get away with using in every scenario.

Immediately became one of my favourites.
I fell in love with this compressor because it filled the hole in my collection between ones that too bold or too soft. Don't get me wrong, this thing can be aggressive and almost invisible too. A must have, in my opinion.

I Wasn't sure about buying these...BUT
I didn't need any more compressors did I?
Turns out I did.
They're great. I love vintage stuff but if you don't have the budget, space or patience for the real thing, plugins like this one make it like we have the gear in our studios.
